Additive Manufacturing Technician

 

Firestorm as a company grew out of the simple question: how does a US ally country with a respectively low defense budget deter an aggressor state entity with a vastly larger war chest? About the Role:

Reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer, the additive manufacturing technician will be responsible for building out, operating, and maintaining Firstorm’s additive manufacturing lab.

 

About you:

  • You are an experienced additive manufacturing technician who has worked within a job shop or laboratory environment
  • You have experience maintaining commercial additive manufacturing equipment, and enjoy receiving training on new equipment  
  • You are committed to quality and have a passion for exceeding customer expectations
  • You are proficient in following work instructions including inline quality control requirements
  • You are a team player and a joy to work with

Responsibilities:

  • Producing Additive manufacturing parts to specification with Industrial-grade, Production-Class AM equipment 
  • Maintaining the backlog of requests from various teams of parts to be printed
  • Diagnose non-compliant products and perform necessary re-work 
  • Digital and written data entry of manufacturing parameters
  • Operate light manufacturing equipment such as media blast stations, drill presses, and various hand tools for parts finishing

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 1 (2+ years preferred) years of hands-on additive manufacturing experience
  • Ability to safely use equipment, hand and power tools to produce finished parts
  • Ability to competently interact with computer systems and software such as barcode scanners, data entry into forms and spreadsheets, etc.

Bonus Skills / Experience:

  • College degree and work experience within a high-tech manufacturing environment 
  • Hands-on experience with DoD-related product development programs
  • Experience with nylon-based, powder additive manufacturing

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs
  • “US Person” status required (US Citizen, US permanent resident) able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Ability to understand and adhere to local labor laws and Firestorm employment policies
  • Other duties as assigned
